My Story

Avanthika, a young girl with an older sister, faces neglect and discrimination from her father, who wanted a boy. He drinks excessively, abuses the family, and blames Avanthika for misfortune. Taken to work with her mother, she plays under the hot sun and lacks proper nutrition, often falling sick. 

A social worker, informed by a co-worker of her mother, intervened and counseled the father, warning him of legal consequences for his actions. Fearful of arrest, he promised to care for Avanthika. Regular follow-ups and counseling are planned to help the parents understand the importance of treating their daughters with love and equality.

Your sponsorship ensures Avanthika is receiving proper food and nutrition for her overall development as well as ongoing counseling support from IGP’s social workers who are providing her with a safe environment to grow. More than that she will learn that she is loved and valued as a girl.
