In a village shadowed by a history of infanticide, a young woman's pregnancy reignites the specter of her family's dark past. Her family had a history of infanticide because they preferred boys. When people heard she might be trying to end her pregnancy, IGP social workers and local health workers quickly came to her aid, giving her important care and support before the baby was born.
After Mayadharshini was born, social workers visited the lady and newborn baby at the hospital. The mother cried, expressing that she was going through a lot of rejection and abuse by her husband’s family. The staff encouraged her and promised to take necessary steps to address the family members' behavior.
If you choose to sponsor Mayadharshini, you will play a part in providing her with the opportunity to create a better life for herself. Under IGP’s care, she will receive a strong education, the ability to have a better childhood, and consistent care for her needs. With your help, Mayadharshini will begin to understand that she is loved and valued.
