My Story

Baby Brindha was born into deep family tragedy and rejection. Before her birth, her mother had been pressured by fortune tellers to abort two pregnancies. When Brindha was finally born, her grandfather committed suicide after a family dispute, and her grieving grandmother took her own life three days later. Brindha’s father, consumed by anger and superstition, refused to see his newborn, calling her a curse to the family.

IGP social workers quickly intervened. They counseled Brindha’s mother and grandparents, urging them to protect the baby despite the father’s rejection. They confronted the father with the support of village women leaders and helped register Brindha’s birth to secure her care. Through patient guidance, the father slowly changed his attitude, and the mother received women’s group and income support to strengthen the family.

Today, the once-rejected baby is a confident young woman studying in a good private school and preparing for her final exams. Brindha’s life stands as a powerful testimony of how timely intervention can stop gendercide and give a girl the future she deserves.

If you choose to sponsor Brindha, you will play a part in providing her with the opportunity to create a better life for herself. Under IGP’s care, Brindha will receive a strong education, the ability to have a better childhood, and consistent care for her needs. With your help, she will begin to know that she is loved and valued.
